Interesting. I actually emailed Popovich (being a San Antonio resident) about Mullens, because he is a project (is he ever) and would benefit from the teaching and discipline that he would get in the Spurs organization. Plus if he is to go in the first round, which is still difficult to believe, he would be drafted down where the Spurs might have ashot at him.

Matta wasn't "hiding" him last year, that's for for. OSU desperately needed him to step up early which Mullens never did. He has displayed almost zero understanding of real pivot moves, nor the hunger you need to become great. Actually, the odds are he will become another sad case of underdeveloped talent, wasting away in the Development League until he gets frustrated and heads to Europe to try and salvage his career.

This reminds me of Ivan Chiriaev's comment about how "the NBA needs Ivan Chiriaev,". Poor kid knows he made the wrong decision now he's trying to hype himself, but instead he's looking like a d-bag.

hmmm i think he would be a good roll player, you know, like matt bonner type. hes a footer, you can pass on that. and there are teams out there that need size. If he gets drafted by a team like the lakers or the spurs with a good coach, he will get a good roll playing gig there. Dont under estimate anyone.

He is one of two true centers in the draft. He will be picked high. Word was that Thad Motta, the OSU coach, was trying to "hide" him, didn't give him minutes. He is no different than Jrue Holiday, who was also a top high school prospect last year but didn't put up big numbers.

Fewer than 200 seven footers have played in the history of the NBA. Teams are ALWAYS willing to take chances on seven-footers in the draft and also wait on them.

Kid had to leave OSU. His family is desperate. I wish him well.
