Calathes has little to no athleticism. You can get by in college, even excell. Just look at Bobby Hurley.
But he clearly says, “I think I can play good defense”, not “I play good defense”- mostly because the former is speculation and the latter would be an outright lie.
    Bobby Hurley 2.0

Calathes can play and I think he will make a good pro not an all star but a decent player. And he can do much more then hurley ever could

Honestly, I love Calathes’ skill set. Sure his athleticism is below average and will probably haunt him at the next level, but his passing skills and height make up for that. Bobby Hurley was 6-0 in high heels, Calathes is a legit 6-5.

But still, Calathes hasn’t really shown he can make a team better. While missing the tournament in ‘08 may have been understandable, the Gators missing it again in ‘09 was pretty pathetic, and Calathes did not perform in the clutch on several occasions that could have made the difference. And that’s a major concern for somebody who is going to be your primary ball-handler and decision-maker.

“I think” is very weak. Either you DO play good defense or you dont. Also, if he does shake David Sterns hand, please have surgical gloves on and protect your wallet at all times.

Sorry gator fans,I got three buddies who are NBA scouts who say there’s no way Calathes makes thier team any better. And these are lottery teams that are already in terrible shape and in desperate need of talent. He can always play in Greece as a citizen.

If Bobby Hurley was 6′0″, then Allen Iverson is also 6′0″. Hurley is about 5′9″.

If Bobby Hurley died, he would be 6′ 0″ under. If Yao Ming died, he also would be 6′ 0″ under. Amazing.
