The CAVs wanted to bring Newble back last year, but he choose to sign with the Lakers. Now he'll have to 'get in where he fits in'.

I'm glad to see Gill is back with the Nets. He is a quality player and I was surprised he wasn't kept all season last year. Hodge seems like a nice guy but Gill is hands down a better all around player. As nice as Julius seems to be through his blog, I don't know if he could throw a rock in the ocean. I've followed Gill's career and the guy deserves a break.

I'm hopeful Julius Hodge can earn the last roster spot over Gill (and DerMarr Johnson).

Dupree is a decent signing for Cleveland, he won't play much but they needed a SF for garbage time not named LeBron or Wally. It's a little odd that they didn't bring back Ira Newble though.

Philly just brought in training camp fodder, they already have 15 guaranteed contracts (6 of them new additions). Reiner is getting a look in case Ratliff has another serious injury.

I'm a big Linton Johnson fan. Washington is a team with serious depth issues despite numerous medical concerns. If any team can use a defensive forward it's them. He should get the 15th roster spot, which hopefully means D-League for McGee, McGuire, and Pecherov. Although, with Arenas knee surgery the team could opt to bring in a 3rd PG until he comes back.

Britton Johnson might be a local favorite but his team has 15 guaranteed contracts. He might have a spot next year though.

It's tough to see Freije making the roster unless Adrian Griffin doesn't have the desire to play anymore.

The rest of those invites are just training fodder, one would think Trey Johnson has the best chance at sticking but the Nash era has seen Phoenix penny pinch the end of their bench and go with the minimum number of players. Perhaps Terry Porter will value the depth more than D'Antoni did.
