White to China?

James White - Icon Sports MediaFormer Spur James White could soon sign a contract with Chinese club Xinjiang Guanhui, agent Bill McCandless told HoopsHype.com.

“Unless there is a trade involving one of three NBA teams with whom we are in contact, he will accept a lucrative six-month deal in China,” McCandless said. “Memphis, Atlanta, and Indiana had the most late interest. One of these three was willing to make a financial commitment, but it was and remains conditioned on moving a player. If that does not happen, then James will play in China.”

Rounding out the rosters

Eddie Gill - Icon Sports MediaBrad Ames of Priority Sports has provided information about where some of the agency’s clients are headed for training camp…

Point guard Eddie Gill will return to the Nets. This will be the fifth stint in New Jersey for Gill, who has a realistic chance of making the team as a backup for Devin Harris and Keyon Dooling.

Ronald Dupree, who will go in history as the last player inked by the Seattle SuperSonics, will be signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Sixers will get additional depth for their training camp roster with the signings of forward Antywane Robinson and center Jared Reiner, who has two years of experience in the NBA under his belt.

Linton Johnson, last seen with the Phoenix Suns, will be in training camp with the Washington Wizards.

Former Utah star Britton Johnsen will get another chance with the Jazz.

Dead-eye shooter Matt Freije will be added to the Bucks’ roster. Freije played this summer in Puerto Rico.

Other training camp invitees include Darryl Watkins (San Antonio), Chris Alexander (Oklahoma City), Frank Robinson (Atlanta) and Trey Johnson (Phoenix).

GMac to Utah

Gerry McNamara - Icon Sports MediaFormer Syracuse standout Gerry McNamara will be in training camp with the Utah Jazz, agent Bill Neff told HoopsHype.com. McNamara is best known as Carmelo Anthony’s sidekick during the Orange’s NCAA title run in 2003.

The 6-foot-2 guard played last season in Latvia for local powerhouse BK Ventspils. He now faces long odds to make the opening day roster of the Jazz, stacked at the point guard position with Deron Williams, Brevin Knight and Ronnie Price.

Another big for the Lakers?

The Lakers may not be done adding players to their frontcourt. Free agent center Jelani McCoy is currently working out at the team’s facility with the coaching staff, Andrew Bynum, Chris Mihm and Josh Powell, agent Giovanni Funiciello told HoopsHype.com.

“We are waiting on some other clubs that have shown interest in Jelani,” Funiciello said. “We shall see our next move. He has lucrative offers overseas, but we have looked more towards the NBA… Not to say if something very interesting comes our way we wouldn’t entertain it.”

McCoy, who was a member of the last Laker championship team back in 2002, averaged 0.5 ppg and 0.8 bpg last season in six games with the Denver Nuggets.
