There is no questioning the kids talents. I have watched him play many a time and like his style. But the question is will he be able to match it in the NBA. I am not to sure. I guess we will soon see!

hi guys, i'm Italian and i always watch italian league, euroleague, NBA and NCAA... and i think that Gallinari is one of the most important players in this draft... there are only 5-6 players stronger than him (Rose, Beasley, Bayless, Mayo, Lopez and maybe Jordan)... Batum is not so strong, i think he will be selected between 15/20# pick...

Then... who thinks that he's a bust because he looks like another Bargnani... no, you're wrong, man... they're different players, Gallinari is ready for NBA (maybe he will not be a star the first year), Bargnani has not phsycological attitude to NBA... he thinks it's the same thing of euroleague (this is why a C like him has only 4 rbs in this season...)... and who thinks that Gallinari will be the next Bird... NO... he's not a 3 point shooter, maybe he could have similar movements but they are totally different...

why do some people talk without having a clue on what they are saying? how could you say gallinari is a bust? first take a look at the scouting reports, then you should take a look at his play.
he is probably the most talented young player in europe.
that's not so bad, isn't it?
i don't like bargnani neither but if you are a small forward with just the center height it will be really hard to play 5 in the most physical league in the world.
gallinari will be a solid nba player for the next 10 years

Obviously, only someone who has not seen Gallinari play regularly could call him a bust, before he even comes to the NBA!
While he's behind Stojakovic in shooting (not by a lot), he is WAAAYYY ahead of him in pretty much everything else, especially creating off the dribble, passing on the move, with both hands, finishing in traffic, scoring on isolations. However, the biggest advantage he has over Peja is on D. He will be a prototype NBA 3, who can pass and shoot better than most guards. Think Mike Dunleavy of THIS SEASON, even slightly quicker.
His Killer instinct and clutch play r excellent. Most Italian coaches thought he was more talented than Bargnani A YEAR AGO already. He has a legit NBA position. Also, Bargnani has had injuries and plays without a real low-post center. He still may turn out to be a very solid pro. It goes without saying, however, that he would have barely been a top 5 pick in the 2007 draft (there were no HS players in the 2006 one, as the rules had changed).
Regardless, Gallinari is the real deal, on all fronts. Unlike other European prospects, he has already been thrust into a leading-scorer, best-player position in Milano and has flourished in it. So, we are not talking about potential here. We are talking about the 8th ranked player in the EL, with a 15 ppg average, at age 19!

Batum, on the other hand, should have been a lot better already, but is still very young. Physically he's fantastic. But, there r ??? about his heart, intensity, shot.
Last year, after seeing both in person, I said that Gallinari is a better player and I stand by it now. Nevertheless, don't write Batum off. His tools are so good that he could still turn out to b very, very good.
With Gallinari, there's no need to guess.

Can't tell if he's going to be a bust or not, but he's intriguing. Bargnani had better things going for him, at least size , but Gallinari is already playing starter minutes like a veteran in the italian league. He can play, he's a great player, although he's not got any otherwordly skills that can make him stand out as a role player, so he'll probably struggle a bit at first. He's not the quickest, he scores but not by the truckload, he defends and rebounds but he's not a monster. Still, he manages to outplay almost everybody and that makes him interesting.
