A weekend in Vegas

Here I am in Vegas. Summer league began already and although I didn’t play in the first game against Portland on Friday, it was nice to wear the Celtics jersey during the game. It’s something that makes me proud for what all that jersey means. Besides, we beat Portland, so I guess we’re off to a good start.

We didn’t play Saturday, but we had a game vs. the Pistons Sunday with only general managers and scouts in attendance. It was the first chance I had to get minutes on the floor with the Celtics. The truth is I felt very comfortable and thank God everything went fine. The game helped me get confidence and now I’m just hoping I can get some burn during an official summer league game.

Changing topics… I’m still stunned with this city. It’s just so different to all the cities I had been before. I’ve already seen the Bellagio Hotel and Casino and its famous water and light show. And I used some of my free time to go shopping a little bit.

I’ll keep you updated about my experience here in coming days. Bye!

Wow, that sounds like fun! :) If I was to play for a summer league, I’d prefer to play for the Suns, but it’d be cool to play for the celtics as well due to their history. Continue having fun, and evrything else will fall in place.

Interesting, but not really. First NBA experience and hardly a word said about it? Impressed by Las Vegas? Which would I rather read about? I’m on a hoop’s fanatic website, not a Las Vegas website, so out with it man! Want fans? Want the whole 9? OUT WITH IT!

Hello Sergio! I’m just looking forward to seeing your first minutes in this summer league. Hope you’re well!

    Good luck from Spain.

Obviously some numb nuts like DL have no manners or respect and don’t know how to address people. Vegas is the epitome of American consumption and in that sense it is unlike no other city in this country. Just don’t judge all cities by it.

JOHN: Ain’t got nothing to do w/ Vegas, but w/ the fact that the kid has a blog on a hoops site and ain’t said zip about hoops. Very generic. And we all know enough about Vegas. Sanchez has a forum and should use it. Why else have one? Isn’t it an honor to have this site ask you to do a column? Hard to get worked up for the guy so far.

Mallpha: Then very little made an impression on him. I support his blog by visiting it and in theory visiting the site’s sponsors which generates revenue. It’s up to him, if he has this blog, to actually write about basketball, which he hasn’t done. He’s got a great opportunity to write about how the summer league actually works from a player’s perspective, nevermind someone who might not actually make a team. The Blazer’s GM said the difference between college and the summer league is that here guys are playing to “eat,” which is a whole lot more intense and has greater depth than any college game, and it makes me think that there’s a world of really, really interesting stuff going on that would make for a very cool blog. I know he’s a kid, but he could make an impression here too; that’s all I’m saying. “Everything went fine” is a blogging / reporting equivalent of sitting at the end of the bench.
