Well, he got his extension but to say he deserves more money than Rudy Gay? No sir. He got the same contract as Ben Gordon. OMG WOW! Rondo has'nt proved himself without the all-star squad. Without them he is just an average point guard and he will be exposed in 3 years after Ray allen, Paul Peirce and KG game declines.

Well, we have the extension. It was never in doubt. Rondo will be the point guard for at least 2 more banners for Boston- this year and next year for sure. Boston is scary good, much better than the banner #17 year.

i think rondo should get fair market value based on where he is in terms of his talent and productivity.....he did win a championship....and he is the man in the back court so pay him like it

Rondo is da boss, and I don't care about attitude problems because most ballers have attitude probs at this point, kobe had the biggest attitude back in the day, so did Jordan. Rondo is not a franchise player so he doesn't deserve a max deal or anything above 9 mil per year. That is a good contract, I would play for the celtics for only 1 mil a year so he shouldnt complain. Clark is right though, if he wants to be on a good team, 2 million can go a long way in getting a vet or young bench player to join the team, but i dont think thats a consideration to him. he is selfish like every other human being.

Nop. He will get his 11 mln even more easy than Ben Gordon does this off season. If not Boston, Miami, Phila or New-York will pay him !

i agree with around $6-8 per year, if he is goind to demand around 11million, then he should average more than 15pts per game, while still averaging around 10assists.

I actually agree with George. I think Rondo is worth 9 mil per year at most, even though he is an awesome player. The economy dictates that only franchise players deserve max contracts, and I don't think anyone is trying to argue that Rondo is a franchise player. And I'm pretty sure hoopshype said that the celts offered him 45 mil over 5 years, which is 9 mil per season. I wonder how much more he wants. He has to take into account that if he gets a huge contract, that means he also gets worse talent around him in the future...

Rondo is a PUNK! while he is a terrific player I wonder what he is like in the locker room. Maybe the trade rumors involved something called team chemistry and character....everyone saw him slam Hinrich into the scorers table in the playoffs, but no one seems to make a big deal out of it. My opinion he should have been tossed from the game and suspended from the next. That said he does play hard and is more concerned with team success than his own, as a TRUE point guard should. He does not play beyond his talents and realizes his role and excels because of that....Obviously I have strong mixed feelings about the guy...

I don't think he is as good as the money is agent wants. The only guard worth max contract today is Kobe, and maybe D. Wade. Yes, he did really well in the last post-season but he played against a rookie in Chicago and a back-up qualiy PG in Orlando; let's not forget that.
