as a warriors fan, watching the clips fail is great. however, not having elton is huge. livingston himself was to be a large part of their success with the beautiful sam cassell aging so marvelously. with brand an a decent point guard, these guys would fill up a line up and scoreboard: brand, kaman, maggette, thomas, mobley...

for me the bulls were more of a surprise last year. their problem is that they rely heavily on outside shots from gordon, heinrich and deng. really, thats all they have, ty thomas is no better than say a roney turiaf. wallace isn't going to help anyones offensive scheme. they're a disaster the way they are and need to trade some of these big names.

watching the wolves this year, i do see some young exciting talent. who knows, maybe they are a solid player away from doing the same thing as the blazers?

I meant to say "no player has thrived with the CLIPPERS to become a true star in the league". (for those who need the obvious pointed out to them)

The bulls crash and burn is a surprise, but I still say that they do not have as much talent as they are hyped to have. They do have a lot of potential. But then again the Clippers have had many years of potential.

I am never surprised with the Clippers at the bottom of the pile as long as Elgin Baylor is running the team.

For over 20 years he has consistently provided a poor team environment. No matter how many top draft picks they get on a yearly basis, no player has really thrived with the Lakers to become a true star in this league.

Elgin is a media favorite and NEVER talked of negatively, but I would be personally ashamed of myself if I consistently failed in my job for over 20 years. I know flaky coaches, bad players, cheap owner, blah, blah, blah are the reason the clippers always suck, but this guy has to take some of the blame at some point in time.

I don't think simply switching divisions would put Memphis ahead of Boston.

You dont really expect all teams except Chicago to post great records... Most of the teams in your lists does not boast competitive lineup... Bulls downfall is a surprise, but now it's not..

Good thoughts, but you forgot the Sacramento Kings. Gone is the fearsome front line of Peja, Divac and Webber, with Bibby, Christie and Bobby Jackson playing roles in the backcourt. Now we have Kenny Thomas and Mikki Moore in the frontcourt and arguable the most unathletic team in the league. They are not quite as horrible as the others, but at least the others have some good talent that can be used for trades (i.e. Memphis and Minnesota). Who wants guys like a broken-down Brad Miller or Shareef Abdur Rahim? It's going to get ugly there soon.
